Why we Journey...
Time is the only thing that you can’t control. I found myself looking at my hands in defeat as I realized that my oldest doesn’t need to hold my hand anymore. I’ve had a lot of problems in life (I’m sure you can relate). This is one that I didn’t see coming. I *worked all the years that I wish I had spent holding his hand. No one ever sat in their death bed saying “I wish I worked more!”. With that shift in mindset, we are refusing to live our lives like this anymore. Adventure waits for no one, and now neither do we!
Whether its flying, driving, hiking, or camping you can count us in! (I’m only hiking if there’s a nice picnic involved! – Pat). We now write down our travel goals for 2 reasons…
1 – If its not wriiten down, it’s not a goal. (It’s still just a desire)
2 – Now I have something to look forward to. Makes the day to day of going to work bearable because I know I have family time locked in.
Extraordinary Experiences
I’ve told Melanie many times, and I mean it every time I say it. “I want to get lost with you!” We took it to heart from the beginning that we wanted to see the world. We got married on the beach in Aruba with 37 guests. It was a complete success! The time and memories we made with 33 of the closest friends and family (Yup, you read that right. How’s that saying go? 33 out of 37 aint bad!) were unimaginable! That set the tone for the adventurelust to come.
